Getting Started
How do I install the Prodinxy Chrome extension?
Open the Chrome Web Store, search for Prodinxy, and click Add to Chrome. Once installed, pin the extension to your toolbar so the Collect button is always visible when you browse 1688.
How do I connect my Shopify store?
Sign in at app.prodinxy.com, open Settings, and click Connect Shopify. You will be redirected to Shopify to approve the connection, then sent back to Prodinxy. You can connect one store per workspace.
Do I need a Shopify store before I start collecting?
No. You can install the extension and collect products from 1688 right away. You only need a connected Shopify store when you are ready to publish a finished listing.
Is there a free way to try Prodinxy?
Yes. Every new account includes a Free Trial with 3 credits, which is enough to generate 3 complete listings so you can see the full flow end to end before choosing a plan.
Collecting Products
How does collecting from 1688 work?
Browse to any 1688 product page and click the Collect button in the Prodinxy extension. It scrapes the title, price, variants, and product images from the live page and saves them to your Prodinxy workspace.
Does collecting cost credits?
No. Collecting products and cleaning their images are both free and unlimited. Credits are only used when you generate a finished listing.
Can I collect many products before deciding which to publish?
Yes. Because collecting is free, most sellers gather a shortlist of candidates, review them in the dashboard, and only spend credits on the products they decide to keep.
The extension did not capture the variants or images correctly. What should I do?
Make sure you are on the main product page (not a search results or store page) and that the page has fully loaded, then click Collect again. If images are still missing, refresh the 1688 page and retry.
Image Cleaning & OCR
What does image cleaning do?
After a product is collected, Prodinxy runs OCR across every image to detect Chinese marketing text, watermarks, and promotional overlays. Images that are mostly text are removed, and clean product shots are kept.
Why were some of my images removed?
An image is removed when OCR determines it is primarily promotional or wholesale text rather than a genuine product photo. This keeps your gallery looking like a real Western storefront instead of a wholesale page.
Will image cleaning delete my variant images?
No. Variant images are protected and always kept, so the photos customers rely on to choose a color or size are never lost during cleaning.
Does image cleaning cost anything?
No. Image cleaning is free, so you can clean an entire product gallery before deciding whether to spend a credit generating the full listing.
OCR could not read an image correctly. What happens then?
If OCR cannot confidently classify an image, Prodinxy falls back to keeping it rather than risking the loss of a useful product shot. You can always remove extra images manually in the dashboard before publishing.
Generating Listings
What happens when I generate a listing?
Prodinxy rewrites the title and description in native English optimized to rank in search and AI answer engines, matches the product to the correct Shopify category, and applies your selected brand-voice profile.
How much does generating cost?
Generating one finished listing costs 1 credit. Scraping and image cleaning remain free, so you only pay for the output you actually keep.
What is a brand-voice profile?
A brand-voice profile defines the tone and style Prodinxy writes in, so a playful store and a premium store read differently from the same source product. You can set it in your workspace and change it before generating.
Can I edit the generated title and description?
Yes. The generated listing is fully editable in the dashboard before you publish, so you can fine-tune wording, add details, or adjust the category if needed.
Publishing to Shopify
What is the difference between publishing as a draft and going live?
Publishing as a draft sends the listing to Shopify without making it visible to customers, so you can review pricing and inventory first. Going live publishes it immediately to your storefront.
How does category matching work?
During generation, Prodinxy matches the product to the correct Shopify category so it lands in the right place in your catalog. You can review and change the category before publishing if needed.
Where do my images and variants end up after publishing?
The cleaned image gallery and the variants captured from 1688 are pushed to the Shopify product, with variant images preserved so customers can pick their options.
My product did not appear in Shopify after publishing. What should I check?
Confirm your Shopify store is still connected in Settings, then check whether the product was published as a draft, in which case it will be under Drafts in Shopify rather than live on the storefront.
Credits & Billing
How do credits work?
Scraping and image cleaning are always free. 1 credit generates 1 finished listing. Credits come from your plan and are used only at the moment you generate.
What plans are available?
Free Trial (3 credits), Starter at $9.99/mo (30), Growth at $29.99/mo (120), Pro at $99.99/mo (500), and Ultra at $199.99/mo (1,200). You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.
What if I run out of credits before my plan renews?
You can use pay-as-you-go at $0.40 per product to generate extra listings without changing plans, or upgrade to a larger plan if you consistently need more.
Do you offer refunds?
Because collecting and image cleaning are free, you only spend a credit when you generate. If a generation fails due to an error on our side, that credit is refunded automatically to your balance.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
I cannot log in to app.prodinxy.com. What should I do?
Confirm you are using the same email you signed up with, then try resetting your password from the login page. If you signed up through Shopify, use the same account to sign back in.
The extension says I am not logged in when I click Collect.
Sign in at app.prodinxy.com in the same Chrome profile, then reload the 1688 page. The extension shares your session, so logging into the web app fixes the extension too.
A product has no main image after cleaning.
This can happen if every scraped image was flagged as text-heavy. Reopen the product in the dashboard and restore or upload a product photo before generating, since a listing needs at least one main image.
The generated English does not match my brand.
Adjust your brand-voice profile in Settings and regenerate. Since generating uses a credit, review the brand voice first, then generate once you are happy with the tone.
